Hough v. City of Philadelphia – Federal Civil Rights Law Suit

Today, in the United States Federal Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, plaintiffs filed a federal civil rights action captioned as Hough v. City of Philadelphia, et al. Stephen Stewart serves on the attorney team with five very experienced and devoted civil rights attorneys. The plaintiffs, some of whom were peaceable protestors and others who are residents of West Philadelphia, sued the City of Philadelphia, the Mayor of Philadelphia, and the Commissioner of Philadelphia Police Department, among others. The plaintiffs’ cause of action stems from the events of May 31, 2020, in the West Philly neighborhood surrounding 52nd Street and, the following day, June 1, 2020, on the Vine Street Expressway.
